Ten miles of spring breeze are nothing compared to having you by my side on a hike.

On Saturday, May 18, 2024, the Trade Union Committee of Yubang New Materials, in collaboration with the Party Branch, organized a walking event along the moat in Gusu District. Through this healthy walking activity, the event aimed to enhance cohesion and unity among Yubang New Materials employees while strengthening the spiritual and cultural development of Party members.
Before starting, the coach instructed everyone to do some stretching to fully relax their bodies and minimize the risk of injury.
At 8:45 a.m., the hike officially began, starting from the gathering point—Guihua Park—and passing through She Gate, Pan Gate, Xu Gate, Chang Gate, Ping Gate, Qi Gate, Lou Gate, and Xiang Gate. Each section of the city wall is like a page of history, etched with the passage of time and bearing the marks of countless vicissitudes. As we measure the ancient city with our footsteps, we witness Suzhou’s history spanning over two thousand years.
Check-in along the moat
The hiking trail is dotted with a wealth of Party-building elements, including fitness trails, the Suzhou Top Scholar Museum, and the City Wall Museum. These elements are linked together to create an education and learning route for Party members that combines cultural tourism with Party building. This allows YuBang New Materials’ Party member colleagues to not only engage in physical exercise but also to learn about Party building and experience the red culture. It further enhances Party members’ physical fitness and ideological depth, while also fostering greater communication and solidarity among them.
With the moat on your left and the ancient city wall on your right, the breathtaking scenery along the way unfolds before your eyes. Life is like a journey—full of hardships yet brimming with beauty at every turn. Accompanied by the vigorous throbbing of your pulse, with each breath and every step you take, we’re together exploring the deep roots of Wu culture, which span three millennia, and the glorious civilization that has endured for two and a half millennia. Over 16 kilometers and 25,000 steps, the Yubang people have completed the entire journey with unwavering determination. This event has come to a successful conclusion. Looking ahead, we hope even more people will join in outdoor sports—embracing a low-carbon, green, and healthy lifestyle.
